As opposed to the reading which proposes several solutions to prevent birds from injuries, the lecture argues that none of solutions is effective to stop birds from injuries, with reasons respectively as follow.

To begin with, the lecture deems that there are problems with one way glass, because the outside of one-way glass will reflect as a mirror, which is as bad as regular glass. Also, the birds can not understand whether it is a mirror or glass and they thought it might be the sky. So they will fly towards it. By analyzing the features of one way glass, the lecture casts doubt on the first point in the reading.

In addition, the second solution is again refuted by the lecture with pointing out the drawbacks of colorful design. The lecture regards that colorful design also has problems, since birds will regard the unpainted area as holes, which leads the birds fly through it. Plus, unpainted area should be extremely smaller for bird not to fly through. But it will be too dark for the people inside.

Finally, although the reading forwards the way of magnetic field, the lecture still rejects it by analyzing the magnetic ability of birds. The lecture considers that the way of magnetic field will not work well, for it is only used in the long distance, such as migration from cold country to warm country. But in short distance, such as from city to city, birds only use their eyes instead of magnetic ability.
